Hiding from view in the dark lane way, he called her. The other end was answered by a woman, rather gruffly. “Hello”.

Well If she was expecting me, she certainly didn’t act like it, he thought a little displeased with her. After all he’d done for her.

“I’ve been waiting for an hour, where are you” he asked impatiently. ” I’m coming, I’m coming. Just hold your horses” she barked back at him.

A tad annoyed, he hid in the protection of darkness and waited for his pick up vehicle, he didn’t want any of his gang to see him.

Someone was watching though. The watcher examined what, to him, looked a seedy scene. Peering through his tightly closed shutters from his first floor apartment, he watched. He watched everything.

Looming in the shadows, the large man dressed in a overcoat and hat, did looked suspect. What was he hiding? Sitting on the ground hidden behind his heftiness, was what looked like, a sack. Could there be a dead body in it?

The watcher contemplating what he should do next, was convinced something sinister had occurred that evening right across the road from his little apartment. He fiddled with his phone deciding whether to call the police or not. He didn’t want to overrate the situation. But, the bulkiness of that sack left him concerned, he was certain there was a body in that slumped looking sack.

000 he tapped on his iPhone.

“Police.. how can I help?” was the response.

I think a murder has taken place in the laneway across the road from my apartment. There is shady looking man hiding there with a large sack. I think there is a body in it. Hurry, please hurry.

The man in the laneway sees headlights approaching. Finally he thinks to himself. He grabs his sack and drags it towards the approaching lights. The car slows. At the same time red and blue lights arrive flashing, screeching to a halt beside the man and his pick-up vehicle.

The police get out the car and advance quickly “what’s in the bag” they ask? Before the man even had a chance to answer, One of the policeman grabbed the sack. “ why is this so heavy?”

The driver in the pick up vehicle is confused. She hops out the car? “What have you done now?”she screams to the man?

Darling, there was a sale in your favorite clothing store Jigsaw. You said you needed new tops. I bought everything in your size.

Never underestimate the lengths a man will go to to make his wife happy.
