Natures Kiss

The soft breeze sweeps a wisp of hair across her forehead

Sadness swallowing her

Her heart remembering

What is gone, how they were

The gentle breeze kissing her face

Her thoughts

Like an old time movie

Flashing moments in time

Allowing, letting the truth that be

Breathing in warm air

Filling her lungs with hope

Letting go

Allowing herself to calmly cope

Inhale exhale

She weeps for the things she knows now

She will learn, accept and glide forward

Nature places a loving kiss upon her furrowed brow

The undulating path that you now wend

Find answers and enlightenment

Acceptance of change my dear friend

Tribute to a rescued soul

June 2006 – who rescued who?

I am heartbroken beyond words. My beautiful boy Ruffy has spread his beautiful angel wings and left us.

For all those who know me he was my world.

He was at my side constantly for the past 12 1/2 years, this is a tribute to him from me and the special bond and love we shared.

He was a rescue dog and seriously it was the best thing I ever did. He was the most incredible dog I have ever known. Funny, sweet and full of personality. I would love to share this tribute with you.

RIP Ruffy Bendle.

You were so loved. You are a hero in the eyes of all who have been with you for the last three weeks. Your strength was Herculean. Your love constant. My house, my world, my car, my everything is forever changed.

Rest now little one.

Please visit me.

I love you to the heavens and back infinity. Thank you to all who have supported me over the last three weeks it has meant the world and I couldn’t of got through it without you. You know who you are ❤️❤️❤️

A spoken poem. Volume required

Letting go

It’s my first born sons birthday tomorrow and I wrote a little something from the heart

i made a wish, once upon a time

That everything in my life

would work out fine

Enter one little boy we named Kade

My heart was full

He was more perfect than for all I had prayed

The cutest little man I ever did see

Innocence, cheekiness, mischievousness was bestowed upon me

He held my hand for many years

As he got older, he let go

I shed motherly tears

It’s ok though

Seeds you must sow

Live your life

I’ll watch you beautifully grow

Your hand may no longer be in mine

My love for you in one sentence I define

I love you more today than yesterday, but not as much as tomorrow

I love you to the moon and back infinity

❤️❤️❤️❤️

Happy birthday from the proudest Mum in the world

Miami Heat

Miami

Bentley’s, rollers and lambos. Spanish music and g strings

Welcome to Miami

Pure entertainment

South Beach offers the best people watching. A hub of activity. This Art Deco area is trendy, chic, avant- grade and expensive. Reminiscent of an old time movie. Retro style buildings are a photographers delight. Just ask Craig.

With its large cuban population the first language spoken here is Spanish. I encountered a few times when I wasn’t understood at all. Now my question is, was that because they didn’t understand English or was it the Aussie accent? I was asked by one man to say shark. He thought it funny

See thru clothing, fishnet, lace, tight and short seems to be a common uniform for many females

Big, small. It doesn’t matter. Flesh and more flesh. Every body is beautiful and they wear their bodies with confidence and pride that we don’t know in Australia

Lamborghinis and Rolls Royce’s drive by on a regular basis. Actually there are more rollers here than there was at the Grand Prix in Monte Carlo.

Cafe and restaurants one after another, beckoning you in with 2 for 1 cocktail offers

Hookahs are displayed on tables

Cuban cigars

Strippers

Tattooed men and women

Girls with red, blue, yellow, pink hair and of course matching bikinis

Men wearing their pants around their thighs. A fashion statement I still fail to understand

Roller bladers fly by with ease along the water front

Bright retro beach boxes, beach umbrellas, beach chairs, towels, cabanas and beautiful bodies are spotted as far as the eye can see on beautiful South Beach

People doing selfies

Models being photographed

Men doing backflips and handstands

A beach front gym that is fantastic with muscled up men sparring, doing chin ups, bench presses, push ups, muscle ups and to my surprise it has not been vandalized

Once again marijuana permeates through the air, everywhere

Push bikes and walking were our mode of transport with many stops to photograph yet another amazing old Art Deco building. Even when they are building new properties, they are built in that same architectural retro style side. This is an amazing place to see and stay. This place is glamour, glitz, hustle and bustle all day long and night.

Customers ordering fishbowl cocktails, beers, cuban rums in the mornings. I stopped for brunch one morning, around midday, after a juice and some healthy food, my lovely waitress thought me rather weird that I ordered green tea, she responded with absolute surprise, with really? No alcohol

The restaurants and cafes serve a delicious array of delicacies to delight any taste buds. I have not yet been disappointed with any meal ordered and trust me I do a lot of eating.

This buzzing piece of the world attracts the rich and famous, the youthful, the more mature (yes I am in that category) basically it is worthy of a visit from anyone and everyone.

Speaking of famous, we encountered fame first hand whilst enjoying our little tête-à-tête this morning.

There was a lot of activity as a Rolls-Royce full of people. Followed by a four-wheel-drive full of more people pulled up directly in front of the cafe. People were dancing and pumping their arms in the air and music was blaring. They stopped mid road, got out, yes, they got out the car leaving their cars in the middle of the road, with traffic banking up behind them. No one bats an eyelid at anything here. Basically anything goes. A waiter went up and asked “sir may I help you”? Don’t you know who I am? The lovely young waiter, a foreigner and there are many here, said no I’m sorry I do not. He was in good company because nor did we or any of the tables surrounding us.

Are you waiting with bated breath? Who did they meet? We were quickly educated, this was Casanova, a famous rapper with his entourage. Have you heard of him? If not google him.

A table was very quickly organized for our famous friend,

a valet parking attendant took care of the cars and what you would call normality in Miami took place once again.

Different bars playing different music, some play salsa, some rap, some rock, all are very loud. With each new bar we visited, we sampled a new cocktail, all delicious.

As loud as the music is by night, the next morning is another day. It’s quieter, I’m listening to Frank Sinatra croon, fly me to the moon, to me this is very fitting for this 50s inspired environment, it certainly suits My mood and I can actually hear Craig talking.

This place is pure fun and excitement, a few nights may be enough for this more mature gal. I loved the experience Miami. Thank you 🙏

Red Wine

Sitting at an airport bar

Heading to a destination abroad

a new land afar

Sipping on an airport drink

Cheers to our next adventure

I say with a wink

Red wine for me

A beer for you

No duty free shopping

We needed something to do

It’s tastes so fine

This red wine o mine

Now a situation arises

An Unlikely event

My flight is called

Finish my wine, they will not prevent

That I do not finish this wine o mine

I will, I’ll finish it, it tastes so divine

This glass of wine I will most likely finish

The level of the wine in this glass

Will most definitely diminish

Cheers to me

For when it comes tomorrow

A brand new place I will be

Destination Known

Destination unvisited

Excited hardly explains how I have been feeling for the past week

3 weeks here I come. First stop LA, for a over night stay. A fifteen hour flight on the new qantas Dreamliner. 15 hours. Whilst excited about the trip, dread filled me when I thought about the flight. I am without doubt a jet lagger. Yes, I suffer.

Armed with my melatonin for a hopefully successful transition into my new destination. I just needed to get through the long flight. I almost feel claustrophobic on an aeroplane. Cramped seats, no fresh air, no escape. Dread!

The Dreamliner was a smaller plane and I made sure with by chatting, then adorning my pleading face to the lovely check in attendant, please please can I have an aisle seat. Success.

Sitting here at LAX, I’m thankful and surprised at the ease of this flight. It went quick, it was comfortable, it was a piece of cake.

Is this new airplane what dreams are made of? Not exactly if you are in economy but it is a hell of a lot better.

The trip itself. First movie, STRONGER with Jake gyllenhal. Wow. Moving. About Jeff Bauman. The spectator who lost his legs at Boston marathon bombing.

Food. Aeroplane food, hmmmm. It was edible. Hey did you know, that they now have little treats on board these new dreamliners. Dreams are only made of this. 😛 okay a bit cheesy. It is a help yourself cupboard. Soft drinks, water, chocolate, cookies, cheese and biccies, fruit. I may have visited that little comfort cupboard once or twice. Deserved though, after I had done a few crazy yoga stretches which had staff chatting and laughing, I’m going to say with me, not at me. Comfort food deserved! I grabbed myself a little comfort pack also, containing ear plugs, eye patch and tooth brush.

Back to my seat. Fluffy bed socks on, check.Ear plugs in, check. Eye patch in place, check, Noise cancelling ear phones over top of my ear plugs. Indeed an attractive sight. I meditated, then attempted sleep.

I actually dozed. Very rare for me as a chronic non sleeper in life in general, let a lone flying. Yes, I dozed. I woke, turned the one way, I watch 10 minutes of a new movie, dozed again, turned again. Then I experienced whiplash, you know that severe head drop that feels like you have just detached you head from your neck. You know the one I mean? It wakes you up with a bang, probably 6 times.

After a few hours and feeling thankful my head was still attached, we were served breakfast or was it lunch, no it was dinner. According to my Aussie time schedule it should have been breakfast, according to my new Los Angeles time schedule it was dinner. So let’s call it dinner-break and forwhat should have been my breakfast, I was served and ate a Greek salad and garlic bread. Noice!!!

Movie number 2. A beautiful movie about friendship, love, heartbreak. Set in one of my favorite places in the world, Italy. Call me by your name. Watch it!

We are here. LA. We have just travelled back in time. We left melbourne Friday 4th at 9.30pm and arrive after a 15 hour flight on Friday 4th at 7pm.

That could be movie title “back to the past “ , which in 3 weeks allows me to say Back to the Future (part 105)

Let the adventure begin.

May 5th 11am welcome aboard America Airlines flight 2580 to New Orleans. Now please pronounce this correctly.

Forgive me, I’m turning into my mum 😍

https://witandwhimsy87508112.wordpress.com/2018/04/21/saturday-sunshine/

Hi… I’m bewildered, befuddled, confused, confuddled. Yes a new word, a new word to explain and understand my prickly pickle

Lovely lady, J Blaide over a week ago you nominated me for the sunshine blogger award.

I was blown away, tickled pink, over the moon. Yes delightfully delighted. I set about my response in my mind. Life is crazy busy for me right now.

I moved that weekend, so it was a few days before I actually put pen to paper, or more to the point, finger to iPad.

I wrote, I answered my questions, I banged out 11 more question for my new nominations. I was on a roll.

All good. What’s the problem? Me. I’m the problem.

Firstly I think it is fairly obvious I’m new to WordPress. So my puzzlement begins. “Oh dear” I do not know many people on WordPress. 🤪 This is going to be a tad harder than first thought. That’s okay, that’s okay, I’ve got this!

Secondly a few days of spasmodic speed reading of blogs from people I do not know. How did I find these people? I searched a word and browsed what came up.

Okay I’m taking you back a few steps now. One of J Blaides questions in the sunshine blog nominations was,” do you view or read”. My answer was I view and look for a hook to grab me and then I devour.

JBlaide for the record I devoured your site. Awesome, love, funny, entertaining and fabulous. Congratulations wonderful lady. Very clever, you are. ❤️

Forward a few steps again, back to my spasmodic readings of unknown bloggers. Between my crazy week with work and planning a 3 week holiday, I read, searched, I loved.

All good, “ again, what’s her problem you ask”. Well if you can imagine my screwed up crying face. 😩😝😫😖

I can’t bloody workout how to put my nominated names into my blog.

Seriously I have been trying since last Friday. I can get the full site address name in, on checking other nominees, they only have the name. Grrrr. What am I doing wrong? I research. I learn about the LINK. Fabulous I’m on it. NUP.

I did get one up, yippee. However, on making my second link it replaced the first link. What the? 🤪 NO. NO. NO. NO. I had to walk away.

Now I will tell you the funniest part. You won’t believe me. No you won’t!

Do you know what I did when I left school? Computer science. Yes! I was in IT for many years. Are you laughing? I am. 😂😂😂😂

I pride myself on being very computer literate. So what has happened to me? Sadly, I may know this answer, I’m turning into my mum.. yep laughing again. 🤣

So please excuse my ignorance JBlaide. I so wanted to respond and be part of my new little WordPress world. If everyone, my fellow computer literate bloggers, can please bear with me, I will improve with practice or maybe after a few lessons. Perhaps from my kids. Hmmmm. It’s official, I have become my Mum. Asking my kids to help me. Hahha. I love it. Luckily she is one of the most adored and admirable people I have ever met, even if she can’t use a computer. I may possibly be quiet for a few weeks. Ask me why? I’m off on an adventure. 3 weeks of fun, sunshine& travel. I truly doubt I’ll get much time to write while I’m away but I will have plenty to write on my return. However, I will be reading all your blogs as my bedtime reading. I look forward to it.

Love and thanks
